The Young Senators

In 1965, seven teenagers blended their musical talent to form one of Chocolate City’s earliest go-go bands, The Young Senators.The Young Senators made musical history by being the very first road band to record with a major Motown act, Eddie Kendricks.

On February 24, 2002, The Young Senators were inducted into the “Go-Go Hall of Fame” in Washington, D.C.

The Young Senators was the very first “Go-Go” band to have a number (1) one record “Jungle” on their own record lable: Innovation Records in 1969.
The Young Senators’ style of music revolutionized the world’s taste in the art form of “soul music,” blending funk and R&B, creating the early sound of Go-Go music.
