Glenn Ellis

Glenn was Born to play GOGO. He grew up on the Far East side of DC in the early 60’s. “Northeast”. He loved music, it was in his blood line. It was in his home, day in and day out.
He had uncles that played instruments and had “Bands” even as he was a little babe. People at the house including Glenn never wanted for excitement because we had front & center seats to watch and listen to the best music in the city. The  backyard and basement, upstairs and yes..even the porch was covered with folks on a normal day. Summer, Spring, Winter Fall, it didn’t matter the weather, we had “MUSIC”.

Glen

1956 – 2013

Glenn learned early to play guitar. Our Uncle, late Jonah Ellis was a pioneer, a leader, mentor and awesome Guru of the creative art. He taught us as well as Glenn early just what music was all about. He never let us forget that music was a gift from GOD. Glenn may have started playing in the womb because my MOM, she played the Acoustic Box Guitar. I think it was a choosen “Spiritual Blessing” for him to naturally be a musician. Early as life took him away, GOD needed him to do more loving work above. Keep Playing “DO IT AGAIN GLENN” We still can see and hear your vids. So Glad you were with us for that time.

Glenn was the bass player for Chuck Brown for 22years. He has also played with Bernard Wright, Chaka Khan, Natalie Cole, Grace Jones, Brookyn Funk Essentails, Salt N Pepa and Michael Ribaneiak. He has also produced and written songs for SWV and “Dont Stop The Music” by Yarbrough and Peoples
