Roosevelt Smith

Roosevelt Smith from Washington,DC a talented musician who played several instruments mainly keyboards and had a beautiful voice. Roosevelt went to Anacostia High School in SE Washington where you could find him playing the piano in the band room. One of his first bands he played with was The Matadors, also Leadhead and other DC local bands. He did some extensive traveling with Candi Staton on her “Young Hearts Be Free” tour and played on The Midnight Special TV show with her in California. He wrote the song “Can I” while playing with The Matadors who later changed their name to Elvans Rd.
